What to wear

Ladies often ask some questions which the answers are below. The answers may vary from city to
city but the answers are in general for Istanbul.
Do I need to bring a scarfe?
No you dont need to. Because all the mosques in the country provide scarfes if needed.
Can I wear shorts?
Sure you can. Especially along the coast, every men and woman wear shorts. In Istanbul a minor local wear in summer
but the tourists wear it spring ,summer and autumn.
What if I am a lady?
No problem at all. But not too short mini skirts if you are alone. That will pull the attention of the local. They
may not tease you but may whistle or just keep looking at your legs.
Can I wear shirts?
Sure you can but some shirts dont have any sleeves at all. I mean they are cut from the shoulders. Even tough
local girls and woman wear it , it is advised not to wear. Because the local know wearto wear them. But you may
end up in a back street where there are only men around.
So what do you recommend?
A skirt covering the knees and a shirt till your elbows or comfortable pants will make the ladies feel more relaxed.
But on the other side woman who dress like home dont get pain neither.

Istanbul	Shirts and sweaters together even shorts if you are lucky. Rain coats are a must. Not too thick coats.	Shorts and shirts. It may be little cool sometimes at night times. It rained two times this year in August!!	Shirts and sweaters, shorts and rain coat.	A thick coat is a must. Several jumpers or sweaters will do fine. Lamswool jumpers. Also a water proof boot will be good when you are walking.
Ephesos	Shirts and sweaters also shorts, A light rain coat.	Just shorts , shirts . There are some who walk around with swimming suits at ancient sites .	Shirts and sweaters and a light rain coat.	A rain coat , boots, and few jumpers will do fine.
Antalya	Clear weather and lots of sun but the air is litlle bit cold. Shorts ,shirts, sweaters and alight rain coat.	Just shorts ,not even your pyjamas!! It is so hot and humid! Your swimming suits as well if you are not a nudist.	Having the final days of summer but sun is still up there. Rainfall couple of hours , clear sky the next hour. Just like spring .	Even though it is often sunny, the snow on the mountains can make feel cold. A rain coat and simple jupers will be Ok. I swam in the sea on St. valentine's day!! ( Feb. 14 )
Cappadocia	The soil is sandy in this region. Avoid high heel shoes, comfortable boots or running shoes are perfect. Shirts and jumpers also a coat.	Shirts and shorts, if you are.	Shirts and jumpers	Thick coats , and jumpers, could be snowy some days.
